Back for good!

So I have been gone a long long time :( as u may know I've been up to my ears with work, courseowrk, dissertation etc etc (final yr really takes it toll!) but I can now safely say NO MORE COURSEWORK EVER!! I handed in my last piece of undergraduate coursework on monday and promptly went shopping the next day!! Haven't been so excited to go shopping in a long time! Didn't buy toooo much only a little haul today. Here it is:

lol incase you're wondering no the teddies weren't part of the haul, they always sit on my dressing table!  As you know Im a big Lush fan, in fact most of my skincare is from them but I was attracted to the Laura Mercier counter for their tinted moisturiser, said i wasnt going to spend much but Lo and Behold the lady also talked me in to getting the oil cleanser! She kindly gave me smaples of their face scrub and primer too. I can't say much about them as yet but will review them in about a week once I've used them properly.
Makeup wise, I purchased Sleek lip conditioner and their Eye Kajal. Both seem like really good products so far. Their is just a slight tint of colour to the lip conditioner, looks very natural and is VERY moisturising. Can't really comment much on the Kajal apart from it looks like a fat crayon, its got the indian design to it reminds me of my childhood holidays in Asia!! Its just like any other eye kajal in terms of use, nothing too special, I was drawn to it purely for its packaging!

Thats it for the haul for now, I will be updating this blog much more often as now I have time spare. I am thinking of setting certain days for it, will let you know. As for the next post I have a few things lined up. One is a slightly controversial topic of skin lightening (a big trend in asian cultures at the moment) and also a makeup tutorial. So stay tuned for those! Last thing though, I am thinking of launching a proper website dedicated to makeup related things. Im not entirely sure as yet, your opnions are most welcome, leave a comment below!!

Update

Heylo!
How are you all? hope you are all well.
This is just going to be a quick post i just wanted to update you with what was happening. I have some bad news :( I was involved in a car crash so have been very busy with that lately trying to sort it out, my car is just totally mashed up :( its so depressing not having a car lol I can't go shopping, bus takes too long!

Anyway I just thought I'd let you know something I just discovered (you may already know this). I was browsing ELF website after watching Ling's video on ELF's Hi def powder and I came across the 'ELF Makeup Collections'. There's  Mini, Essential and Master sets. Seems quite interesting. They look to be a bit like the 88 palette...hmmm intriguing....! Let me know what you think? worth the money or leave alone?  Here's the link: http://www.eyeslipsface.co.uk/product~prodID~165.htm

Thats all for now, Don't forget to check out Ling's Youtube she's awesome :D here's link: http://www.youtube.com/user/moonbeamstarlight?blend=1&ob=4

A bit of everything!

Helloooo!
First of  all before I say any other thing I want to say A BIG BIG THANK YOU to my new subscribers :D thank you!! I'm sooo elated and happy :D
And also sorry not updating in a while I have been busy with uni as you know, and then there were so many weddings and birthdays these past 2 weeks! Hectic times!
I have a bit of everything in this post, a review and a mini haul from MAC I'll try to keep it as a concise and easy to read as possible :)
I promised I would do a review on Lumecin and Eyliplex products I purchased a few weeks ago, and I think now is the time to do so. I don't want to bore you with lots of writing so for those of you who want a quick answer I LOVE Lumecin and HATE Eyliplex-2!!  and now in more detail (lol) :
I really noticed a difference in my skin from Lumecin within a week of using it. This is a skin brightening TREATMENT.  It states to you it every night for 2 weeks and then start reducing to a couple of nights a week. What this product does is make you skin clear and evenly toned and thus more brighter. For me, this worked wonders, I noticed my skin starting to clear up within a week, My skin was much more brighter and any acne marks started to reduce. Its effortless, just apply a pea sized amount at night after cleansing, thats it!
On the other hand the eye cream, which has the same purpose, it is supposed to help with dark circles under the eyes, it didn't do anything for me. In fact the skin under my eyes became dry. It has 2 eye creams in one packaging, day and night. The day side is a gel like consistency and I hated this, I would put it on wait for it to dry just like the directions but then any concealer I applied would just flake right off, along with the eye cream! The night cream is a thick consistency felt lovely applying but didn't see any results with it what so ever.
They are quiet expensive, in fact £30 each from boots which I believe is the only place they can be purchased in the UK. Lumecin is totally worth the money I believe as I have never seen such results so quickly but the eye cream I would definitely not recommend.

On to the mini haul. I'm sure you all know of MAC's latest collection, Give me Liberty of London! Well I was looking forward to this for such a long time but when I swatched most of the products they weren't quite right for me :( Most of the colours didn't work for my skin tone (NC40-42). I purchased 2 things; a lipstick in Petals and Peacocks, a very vibrant pink with amplified finish. Its gorgeous! I also purchased Birds and Berries eyeshadow, a lovely bluey greeny tealy colour (lol) Its a veluxe pearl finish so has that lovely texture thats not too overpowering.  I would do swatches so you can see how they compare against my colouring but unfortunately my camera is still not working :(

Right before this post get any longer, I shall leave it at this, will be back soon hopefully with a camera that works!

A little update

Hey! I back again!
I know I have left it a little long since my last post but I needed the time to work on my disso for uni and had various other things going on but i am back now and will hopefully stay on top of everything :)

So what else is new hmmm ohh yess as of late a makeup website called lovemakeup.co.uk has put up Sigma brushes!! In the UK its pretty hard to get hold of them, well I think so anyway as you have to order them from USA and so have to pay tax etc and ends up costing a lot! So when I saw them on lovemakeup I jumped at the chance!! I purchased 5 brushes I would take a picture but unfortunately my camera is being silly and not connecting to my laptop :(
I'm sure you have seen them anyway but I will tell you which ones I bought: ss190, ss168, ss187, ss252 and the ss209! They are sooo beautiful and such great quality! Definatly go check them out! They selling out pretty quickly!

This is probably the most exciting thing that has happened in the past week! I am trying not to go purchasing anything else now, I want to save up for the Liberty of London collection by MAC. There are a few items in that collection I have my eyes on! I missed out on the ONE product I wanted from the bottem of my heart from the Spring Forecast collection, the blush ombre in Ripe Peach, it suited my skin tone so perfectly :'( I am determined not to miss anything this time!!

I think i'm going to leave it at this for now I should get back to my disso!! I will be back soon!

A quick trip to Boots!

It just so happens, today I purchased 2 other products on a whim whilst in Boots (UK drugstore). They are by GoodSkin Labs, the first one is called Lumecin.
This product is an 'overnight brightening treatment' and is supposed to even out skin tone, improve skin clarity and reduce appearance of pores. It claims results can be seen within 2 weeks. I decided to give this a go as although I'm quite happy with my skin I want to give it that extra 'oomph' and also I do have some enlarged pores which I cannot seem to shrink back!

To go with this I also purchased the eye treatment Eyliplex-2 as I have dark circles under my eyes, again it claims to reduce appearance of dark circles within 4 weeks. I only purchased the products today so I cant say much about them. I will be doing a full review on them in 2 weeks time to let you know how I get on with them and give you more details about the products too!

Skin care routine

Ello again!

I think for my first 'real' post I'm going to talk about my skin care routine. The products I use are pretty much all Lush products!

I use Angels On Bare Skin cleanser morning and night, it does a very good job of cleaning my skin without making it really dry, this is because it has lavender and rose which are known for their calming properties.

When you first see it you think what on earth?! Its a big lump of greyish coloured clay
like substance in a pot lol. To use it you take a penny sized amount, mix it with a few drops of water to make a paste to cleanse your face with and rinse off.
It has mild exfoliating properties but not at all harsh just very little so it gives you a good clean! It is a bit of a hassle using but you get used to it very quickly. I find it keeps my skin balanced, not too dry or oily and does a very good job of cleaning it, my skin almost glows after I've used it!

After cleansing I use Breath of Fresh Air toner also by Lush. My skin for some reason doesn't get on with most of toners but this one works really well for me. Nothing special to be honest just a nice refreshing toner. I am a little annoyed with the packaging, its a pump spray but my one doesn't seem to work :S but hey never mind not the end of the world!

Another lush product I use is the Vanishing cream. This moisturizer is amazing, its very good for people with combination skin. My skin just soaks it up, doesn't feel oily nor does it leave my skin still feeling dry! It balances out so perfectly across my face and deals with the oily parts and the dry parts with no hassle at all! Another plus point: a little goes a long long way!

This is what I do morning and night the only extra things I do is use a fresh face mask every 2 days, I use Brazened Honey. Its very exfoliating and clarifying, gives my skin a wonderful glow. It has ground turmeric in it which in indian traditions a bride uses before her wedding to make her skin tone even and give a healthy glow. I must say this mask does have that affect too!

Right, I think thats enough rambling for one post, its got quite long! I hope you enjoyed reading it, if i made any mistakes or you have suggestion how to improve the quality of my posts etc feel free to email me :)

Welcome to my little world!

Hi and welcome to my new blog!
Being a girl crazy about makeup I thought it was time I shared my knowledge and opinions with other beauty crazy girls and guys! I will share my views on products, let you know what I think of them and give my tips and tricks on makeup/skin care. I am hoping to do a makeup course in April and become a qualified makeup artist so hopefully I can maybe even help 'teach' you a few things here and there :)

I'll start off by explaining a little about my skin, I think this is quite important especially for reviews so you can keep in mind my skin type compared to yours whilst reading them.
Im 21 and thankfully have gone past the acne prone teenage years! I do however get a few minor breakouts here and there but nothing extreme that I can actually call 'acne'. I have combination skin, its dry in some areas and oily in others, mainly down my t-zone. I have tanned skin (Indian!), in terms of mac foundation I vary between NC40-42.

So thats a little bit about my skin and purpose of this blog, I do hope you enjoy it and find it useful, if you ever have any questions, suggestions or even things you want me to review send me an e-mail on ladyglitter21@googlemail.com :)
